Front bumper fender bender... what should I do?

I say just leave it, gives it character lol. Just stick a lens in there and fix the foglight. When your buddies ask what happened, just say you hit something while wheeling lol.

Get the lift, fix the bumper.

As has been said here and in many other threads 12 weeks is their norm. Also it seems the general consensus here is that what Schrockworks says and what Schrockworks does are two totally different things. Good luck with anything from them in 4 weeks other than excuses.

It'll be just fine with a stock suspension.
I installed it quite easily solo by using an engine hoist to raise and level the bumper on the runner. Should only take you about half a day and a six pack if your car savvy. Maybe a couple more hours if there are some quirks in the install or you have to dial it in again.

Laugauge, I had it sent to a shop (Christian Brothers Automotive in Weatherford). They did the install very well, and when the pieces were missing for the pieces below the headlamps, they fabbed them up. Price was very reasonable, and if you go there ask for Scott Stidd. He is the owner. They will be able to do it a lot faster since they "learned" on mine. Tony was the tech that did the work. Not only were we missing parts that had to be gabbed up, the blinker on the passenger side had a broken housing so we had to deal with that as well. Overall, a fantastic job, can't recommend them highly enough. I went over there because everyone I talked to in Dallas was quoting me crazy numbers for the install.

So I just got a quote from the USAA recommended body shop and it is $1081 minus a $500 deductible. If I can get USAA to cut me a check, I might just go ahead and get the new bumper.

It's basically $500 for an OEM fix, or $1000 + labor for the new bumper. How much do places charge for the install?

Don't pay for someone to install it. Come down to Dallas and I'll help you with the installation. Although, I may be shipping out before yours gets delivered, in which case find someone else on here!

Hmmm, that brings up a good point. I might be able to do it using the auto hobby shop on base for cheap. I'm sure they have all the equipment that I'd need.

It's a super easy installation. When you receive it, just do an inventory of all the parts and make sure you have everything before you begin. If you don't, they'll send you what you need ASAP.

I didnt find it to be that easy, but I guess if you are a little more technically minded it might be easier for you. I have done some other things in the past but I really didnt want to tackle this one by myself. Good luck.

Alright, I made a decision... In stead of spending $600 extra on a bumper just to wait for 4 months, I decided to buy a mountain bike instead! Looking forward to it coming in .

I bought a Diamondback Recoil Comp. It'll be my first bike I've owned since the bright green Huffy with the little stereo between the handlebars.

YES>> The bumper WILL fit in the back of your truck. That's where mine is waiting for me to install when i am finished touring for work. 1 more month.
But it is not being driven, i don't know if i would recommend that.
