got into a front end collision yesterday. my front bumper is pretty much screwed, how would you all recommend on replacing it? should I try my luck and go to a junkyard? or better yet is anyone here upgrading to an arb and selling theirs?
also would other years fit? I have a 01 sr5

bump... does anyone know is certifit is reliable for replacement parts? There's a store in San Diego and I was planning to check it out..

also, does anyone know if the '99 front variance will fit an '01?

Certi-Fit is a great place to buy parts. They are very well priced and high quality from all the reports I have heard. To answer second question I believe 99 was the first year of the Fat lip bumper so it should fit. The 96-98 didnt have teh extra bump out in the middle like the 99 and later.

my 4runner got hit in exactly the same spot and the damage looks nearly identical! I have an estimate for $773 from the insurance company but i had to come up with $500 for the deductible. It's scheduled to go in on tuesday with an estimated 9.9 hours of labor to be done to it. It stinks and of course the driver who did it didn't bother to leave any note.

dang that is the cost of an arb. I smashed my bumper into a tree out wheeling, and i only have liability insurance so insurance was not an option. i found new chrome bumpers for $150, and the plastic was still all good on mine, but i decided to go arb.

good luck

another thought....i was due for a tire rotation and took it in to tire kingdom just yesterday. since i had an alignment done just under 6K miles ago the alignment was still under warranty. and sure enough the right front - where it was hit - was out of alignment. so they fixed that. i was just thinking that you might want to have your alignment checked too after such an accident.
