It's odd to me how a vendor would talk crap on a forum. I think it's bad for business. At least get an alt or something.

He's taken out the concern with the welds as the shackles aren't welded on, but seem to be one piece with the part that mounts to the truck. Will still be subject to shear force, but should be stronger than just a weld.
I see the aluminum vs steel bumper debate a lot like suspension choices. There's pro's and con's, but they can be geared to your use. Mine's a DD, and I don't do a lot of stuff that likely requires frequent recovery. So I like the low weight, the corrosion resistance for the salted roads, but still get a winch platform, increased approach angle, and easier to fix up when some *** hits me in a parking lot. Also wondered if the aluminum helps buffer/replace the crumple zones that most of the bumpers require to be removed. In an impact, would it absorb the energy more than a steel without crumple zones and thus keep those benefits?
Need to come up with a way to get the metals to get along with each other, but otherwise sounds good. You'd provide a 3rd aluminum bumper option for us if you can get on building that! I understand you've already gained a lot of experience adding/removing/building bumpers ...

One comment about aluminum and mountain bikes.... since there was some mention that only steel was used for hard core applications....
That is no longer the case at all. I've ridden many bikes including full on downhill applications. I have not seen a steel frame in any competitive bike in so long that I almost forgot about them.. They still exists, but it is more of a novelty for people still riding a rigid or hard tail frame.. Most mountain bikes are aluminum these days (even full on downhill bikes). The other common material is carbon. The aluminum bikes are very durable and failures are almost unheard of these days. (can't really say the same for carbon yet) The hydro and air forming technologies along with various alloy blends completely changed the old way of thinking that aluminum had a very limited service life. There is still some limit to the service life... but its only a concern for the most hard core big air scenarios.
Additionally, every off-road moto I own has a full aluminum frame. Never seen one fail or had any concerns about service life.
I would personally feel pretty confident about running an aluminum bumper, but I would want to see how it was built first.

Define odd...... I did not "talk crap" at all, however some people do consider most forum banter "crap".
I don't sell the items being discussed, but I did buy them. Even so, do you feel I should not be part of a debate simply because I have to pay to be on the forums?

I've been a member of this form since well before I was a vendor. I consider myself a member before I consider myself a vendor.
I take care of customers ALWAYS, I do not disrespect customers, I always offer the most competitive price I can, I give my time and advise free, I do what I say and I use what I sell.
If being a vendor and participating in discussions (even heated ones) cannot go hand and hand, then I choose being just a member. Pathfinder Outdoors is just something I do on the side, being a 4Runner (Toyota in general) enthusiast runs far deeper. Furthermore, people like you who don't want vendors to do any more than run sales and answer product questions on the forums, is the reason so many bigger vendors have dropped out of the forums. They get scared that someone is going to take the internet forum too serious and in one way or another cause them more grief than it is worth.
I participate on the forums, I poke people with sticks (given it's appropriate), and I enjoy debating even the silliest stuff.
Sorry if that rubs you the wrong way, I assure you, it's not my intention.
NOW... Can we get back to how bad aluminum is and how big of a fool I am for buying one of these thrown together garbage Hefty bumpers?

Nice. I like how they added lower covers for the exposed bits that result from this type of bumper, whether they are armored or not. But some larger more detailed pictures would help. It also looks like they may also have addressed the opening for the winch a little better than mine. But I do still love my SSS Slimline. It does look like a worthy addition to the OP.

I'm hoping a company makes a bumper that can be bolted together.
A plus would be that you could replace damaged/rusted sections with minimal effort and there would be a possibility to ship it in sections to an APO address for the military/DoD T4R owners overseas.
Of course a higher price point would be a given...

Hefty Bumper Shipping Yet??
Any Hefty Fab bumpers shipped yet?
Ready to order a bumper, but was hoping to see a Hefty bumper with grille/light guards before pulling the trigger. I like the looks of the Hefty for 2014/2015 4R, but am on the fence between Hefty and Shrock. Had Hefty sliders on my Xterra that were rock solid so confident in the quality.
The Hefty deposit thread dates back 5 months which makes me wonder what the ultimate wait will be if none have shipped yet.
