Front Differential differences?

Does anyone know what the differences if any there are in front differentials?

I have a 99 and I found a used one from a 98 that I want to get gears installed in and then just swap into my 99 to cut down on the down time.

I dealt with this recently as I swapped a front diff with a different gear ratio..

Essentially (to my limited knowledge) the differences between diff's are the gears... Sounds like you got that handled... And the way they engage the 4wheel drive..

Some have a vacuum actuator and others use electronic actuators...

I believe the 96-98 are vacuum
&
99-2002 are the electric actuator...


Whatever your truck has now, just swap the actuator that came on your original front diff...

That's what I did.. Hope I did it right!!!!
