Not sure what is going on with the front end of my vehicle but I have perpetuating grinding noise that occurs when I accelerate or decelerate the car about 10 mph. SUV has 136k miles.
At first I brought it to a Yota mechanic who replaced the passenger side wheel bearing. I also had both front calipers replaced because of seizing which resulted in two rotors + pads and fluids.
The noise problem reduced for a bit then came back. The next time, I went into a Yota dealership, had their inspection performed and the outcome was the Tech did not see any mechanical problems. He confirmed that both wheel bearings were in good shape. Noticed that steering boots were loose, but nothing to fix asap or related to this problem. I ended up replacing all the front, center (trans case) and rear differentials oils replaced by Toyota. I was told that the fluid in the front differential came out with light sparkles-- this was original fluid in the suv.
The noise grind has exacerbated since the Toyota did their service. I noticed today that on the highway that when my vehicle moves on a banked road, the grinding noise goes away. I do not see any signs of rubbing. I do have cornfed lift on the stock suspensions, and 4 wheel hub spacers. Tires have been checked for alignment, which came out good. Tires are rotated, 55k Cooper discovery, currently with 31k miles on them.
Thoughts on what this problem can be?
