Front end lift advise

Hi there. Any advise is welcome and appreciated. I added an ARB winch bumper along with a winch with steel line and my front end did not actually get lower, but rather the rear is higher due to 8.5 wrap LC coils. This has always bugged me, but now more than ever. Up front i'm running the Toytec/Eibach front coil lift springs with Bilstein adjustable 5100's. I'm at 3 inch front lift and would like to get another .5"-1" inch lift out of the front.

Now I did order the ToyTec front 3/4" inch spacer, but have heard mixed reviews about the potential of a rough ride and other issues that it can cause to various suspension components when under stress. Can anyone suggest another option to get that front up a bit more? Maybe an inch?

I can take more pics if need be since these pictures don't show much of that front rake since the parking lot at work is at an angle. I hope you get the idea from the 2nd picture.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

Visors look good! Adding more to the 3" could cause some issues with your CV's. If you plan on adding a rear bumper this could help settle it down some. Rather than lifting the front more, I'd personally drop the rear some first. I do like the stance you have right, and that's what I'm currently working to achieve.

im in the same boat, kinda, i want to lift mine more but the problem is your upper ball joints max out and you loose all your down travel. so just even taking corners that inside front tire will be maxed out.

you really need new aftermarket UCA (uniballs) that give you more articulation and that will let you go up another inch (maybe)

like what mstudt said, you might want to drop the rear and then if you want taller go to a body lift. (that will give a gap with your sliders and bumper tho)

EDIT: you do have a 1" BL

Thanks for that MStudt. Got a good deal on the visors! I feel like it has too much rake up front, but I appreciate the feedback and you're right about stressing the CV's. This is what I've heard. And yes, a rear bumper will be getting added sometime soon. Maybe I can bring down the rear to 7.5 wrap coils instead.

Thanks again.

Yup. already got the BL. So I might as well take everyone's advise and lower the rear by about .5"-1" and return the 3/4" ToyTec spacers to avoid any problems down the road. Thanks for the feedback.

what type of load do you carry around in the back on a daily basis? i would load it up with something to weight it down a bit. start with adding weight to equal the new rear bumper your thinking, then a full size spare. see what that looks like. you might not need to lower the rear rather just have that extra weight of the gear your going to put on in the future. then start thinking about other things you might add in the future, extra fuel, shovels, onboard air. just plan out the future a little, add that wieght where it belongs and see what it looks like, might even need to make a drive around the block or two to let it settle in.

if this still doesn't fix the issue, change the springs out. im just hesitant on changing springs out when your wanting future junk in the trunk lol. i made this mistake years ago on crawler i owned and swapped springs then added weight 3 months later making me resource the springs i had originally.

I run 7 wraps and I still have about 1" rake in the rear with 3" front lift. I think you would be more happy with 7 wraps. But I love the look of your truck. I like the raked look.

One thing thats great about rake is it helps clear rocks. If you wheel a lot you know what Im talking about when you clear a rock with the front but the back end can hang up. If you have rake it helps keep the rear from hangin up.

If you really want more front end lift than 3" the best bet is to go SAS.

You might be right. Currently I have the stock 265/75/16 under the truck because i've been too lazy to remove it and I also have the 285/75/16 spare mounted on the top rear. I'm thinking in the fall, i'll be adding a steel rear bumper with a spare tire and carry one on the roof and one on the rear bumper, so you're right, I might as well leave it. I think everyone has already helped me make up my mind.

Yeah, I was thinking about 7.5 wraps, but other's are right about adding more weight in the future. I just feel like the front is not as tall as it used to be, but it's just me since we measured the front before and after the bumper and there was no change. Thanks for the compliment!

If you want a half inch or inch. Get a body lift. Half inch won't hurt anything IMO

Another thing that you can do is taper the body lift. I hate body lifts, and never recommend them, but. You can put a full 1" puck in the front, leave your rears, and taper the middles to match.

Lot of good advice above, and I agree with bringing the rear down as opposed to stressing the front even more.
Nice looking rig! and yes, that rake would bug the crap outta me!
Get your bumper and see what you need then. I bet it wont be enough, but at least youll have a good idea for springs once it has its normal permanent load
