I have a 2004 4Runner that I have had since new. Everything is stock and just drive on main roads.

On the highway 55+ when I travel straight it is quiet however if I slightly turn to the right I hear a slight roar. Then it goes a way again when straight. Turn to the left slightly and no noise.

I tried to move the wheel checking for a bad wheel bearing but did not notice any considerable play. Does this sound like a wheel bearing issue?

I did notice a split CV boot. Could the CVJ be making the noise like that? I do not hear any clicking.

The 4runner has 125,000 miles. Should I just plan to do CV axles and wheel bearings all together? The shocks and struts have never been replaced either as well as tie rods. Should I just plan to do all this at the same time while I into the maintenance?

It's been a good vehicle. Have not had to do much to it but brakes and oil. I did put new rotors on last year to fix the pulsing when applying brakes. It brakes nice now.

That is exactly a wheel bearing. Replace both of them bc one is usually not far behind the other.

I agree, wheel bearing, most likely the left because it's usually the opposite of the way you turn when you hear the roar, I also would do both.

To check I would suggest you jack up the wheel and then check for play in the bearing with no weight on the wheel.

I recently replaced my fronts using the Doorman complete hub assembly, from rockauto. Was under $100 each, install and fit were great, no probs. Mine is 2wd.
