Front license plate holes on Trail

I made my dealer replace the front section that they drilled.

To keep the LEOs happy I fabbed a simple aluminum bracket. It uses the 10mm bolt under the bumper that holds in the black plastic cover spanning the gap from the bumper to the radiator.

You will not get a ticket in California for not having a front plate on a vehicle legally registered in another state that does not require one. This applies to visitors to California and not to people who move there and don't re-register their vehicles in California within the time limit to do so. I think it's 30 days.

I asked this question a few months ago....bought two plugs on ebay....last Friday I got pulled over by a State Trooper here in TX for no front plate...aaaaaand then that evening found my plate and bracket...and re-installed them.

I got off with a warning...

I counted 13 vehicles on the rest of my commute without them on. They got a lot of pullin over to do.

I've never known anyone out on the trail to notice little details like license plates - usually people are drawn to winches and armor. Screw holes are usually covered by dust and mud anyhow.

"Out on the trail" reminds me of that short-lived thread where the guy lectured people about not being "true adventurers".

seriously? I thought as of 2 legislative sessions ago, front plates were null and void?

Dead serious man...if my T4R didn't stick out like a sore thumb...I might have left it off, but looks like they planned to continue the plate witch hunt.

If I were you...I'd just quote that legislative decision to them you thought you heard about!

I used a heat gun and press the excess plastic back into the hole from where the screws pulled it out. I then bought some body panel tabs from Autozone and pressed it into the holes.
