Front Seat Dimensions

I am currently looking for a 4runner to buy, but on one condition, which is that I must install new front seats. I drove an SR5 for a few days and the only things I cannot live with are the seats and the 1.5" of lost headroom due to a sunroof.

I have seats in mind that I want to install, but I need to get some base measurements first to find out which model I need to pull them from. I will definitely need to do some bracket modifications and also realize that there may be some legal implications.

I do not have a 4runner in my driveway and actually do not have a car anymore, so if someone could get these measurements from a 2010+ of any trim, that'd be super helpful.

Looking for:
- the distance between the rails (that the seats slide in)
- length of those rails
-seat bottom width (widest)
-seat upper width (widest)

which seats are you looking at? i need a new seat and want to move it back on the rails to get more leg room

I'd be surprised if the seat dimensions were the same for all 4Runner trims over 8 years. That being said - the dimension I'd want would be the height of the seat bottom (front & back) from the floor or rails. I have a 2013 SR5, and being tall, my head brushes against the roof. I resolve this by moving a bit forward and then tilting the seat back some.

I plan on replacing my seats some day when I get some freed up money! I am excited for that day....I dont love the seats either.

Seats are on the same rails on a 2018 TRD PRO and a 2018 Limited. My wife has a Limited and I really want her ventilated seats!

I really like Nissan's "zero gravity" seats. I was able to spend some 30 hours straight in the driver's seat and didn't have an issue.

Why Toyota has to have such a low roof is beyond me. Both for the Tacoma and the 4Runner. No moon roof for me in these vehicles. The other issue is that with long legs, there is minimal support behind the knees. This was even worse in the Tacoma...like horribly bad. I believe the 4Runner will be tolerable, though even the pedals seem to be angled weird. Rather than pushing out, it feels like I'm having to push down. A different seat would solve all of these concerns I am sure. I just haven't found a 4Runner that is not overpriced or sold.

6ft 5in mostly legs here... I have sat in every vehicle of similar capability and price (even the full size pickups) the 4runner was the best. Lucky for me it's the one I wanted anyways. When you are built like some ****ing freak ass viking loser every vehicle will be a compromise for comfort. Thow in some xl sparcos on a custom mount and call it a day or don't (I have a shit back and shit knees and I'm quite comfortable in my 18 TRD OR).

FYI had a 16 tacoma for a bit. It was waaaaay worse. Steering wheel doesn't telescope worth shit and the pedals are too close. I drove with my knees up on the steering wheel (almost).

I'm very happy with my 4runner. Not perfect but close enough.

Could someone please take a measurement of the length of the bottom seat cushion? This would be the distance your thighs have to rest on.
