Front seats

I've recently lost 51 lbs (!) and now I notice that the driver's seat in my 1997 SR5 is rather uncomfortable. Without that rear end cushion I used to have I notice that the seat seems to have some bars or something that I can now feel.

Maybe the seat is just worn from 20 years of use....although the truck has only 99.6K miles.

Are there replacement seats available for the T4R? Or can the passenger seat be swapped with the driver's seat?

Thanks!

You should be able to swap out the seat bottom from the passenger side.

I pulled a seat bottom from a limited 2001 if I recall correctly, and put it in my 97 limited with no issues other than I don't have the wiring for the seat heater – so the wire and plug on the seat bottom end are just tucked away underneath.

BTW, congrats on the weight loss. Keep it up!

I was at the local parts dept last week asking about availability for the seat foams. I was told that they are NLA except for old stock at a dealership. I'm in Baltimore, MD and was told that there were (3) seat bottoms and (2) seat backs available somewhere in the country, depending on how accurate each individual dealerships inventory has been maintained. I was looking at approx $300 for both foams, I haven't told them to get the parts yet.

Congrats on the weight loss ! I've been slowly working hard to get rid of some of mine as well, so I know all too well how difficult it is. I cut out ALL alcohol last March and have been going swimming at least once a week for an hour, some weeks I'll do 2 days. I starting kayaking this summer, it's a good calorie burner. I'm down 25 lbs since January, I was hoping for more but at least it's steady coming off and should stay off as long as I keep up with the exercise and diet.

I just order a bottom and back from Camelback Toyota and they confirmed they were pulling them from other locations to ship to me.
Several peeps commented that it would be cheaper to just go to a local upholstery place. I never looked into it but seems legit but I had already ordered the replacement cushions so I’ll just stick with that.
If anyone comes up with some actual costs, photos and review of a local upholstery place doing a custom job then please post up!

Thanks Woody...much appreciated! I'll just swap the bottom cushions and see how that goes.

Thanks...I never was much of one for alcohol (one beer makes me stupid!) but the first thing I did was to cut out *all* junk food such as potato chips and cookies. I never did care for ice cream or candy, but those would have to go as well. There were times I could kill one of those Costco size bags of chips in 2 or 3 days :).

I then cut all food intake in half, and then cut some more, and what I do eat is much better for me as well (veggies, granola bars, tuna salad, etc) - no more TV dinners. I have half a freezer full of them that I will never eat...and the food banks don't want them. Also I have been riding my bike for several miles most every day, usually around the neighborhood and then out into the desert now that the rattlesnakes are chilling out with the cooler weather.

I was 212 lbs on Victoria Day, and now I am 161, pants went from a snug 40 to a comfortable 32, and shirts from x-large to medium. I am barely 5'9" (on a good day, in the morning) so that 212 on me was mostly a large gut :).

I did freak out my doctor last week when I went in for my annual exam...she hadn't seen me since I was 212 and I hadn't told her about the weight loss.

I am nearly 69 so I thought I'd better do it now or else I would likely get diabetes and/or also have problems with knees and other joints...and my doctor did cut off my high blood pressure pills. BP went from 140/90 to 110/65, and I feel much better physically and mentally :).
