Purchased a skid plate from a member here. Anyone know what size the. Opts are or maybe have a part #. I'm in the process of searching. Sometimes u guys respond faster by the time I get lucky finding the answer on my own

It's steel...barely. The factory self tapping bolts are known to cross thread, when I dropped my skid plate I tossed the factory bolts, chased each hole with a tap, and used anti-seize on the new hardware.
This was after I snapped one of the original bolts and then snapped a cobalt bit while I was drilling it out....it took an hour and a half to grind the bit out with a dremel and stone. :redbrick: I wanted to make sure that wouldn't happen again the next time I dropped the plate to change the front diff oil. Worth every penny of the $8 I spent on hardware.

Factory skid plate bolts are M8x1.25x20mm (the length may be a little more than 20mm, but the M8x1.25 is correct size and thread pitch)
You can drill out the factory captive nuts to an M10 bolt and thread it if you need to (which is what I did when mine stripped out), after that you will need to completely drill out the nuts and weld in new ones or use RivNuts (the latter is what I am doing tomorrow to install my new RCI skidplates)

These can be installed from underneath right, I don't need to remove the radiator to install from above?

Rivnuts install kind of like a self expanding drywall or concrete anchor. Drill the hole, slide the rivnut into the hole and expand it with either a rivnut tool or a bolt/nut/washer diy style tool. No backside access required. Once installed, they act like a threaded bolt hole. You can install or remove the bolt just like the original skid plate bolts.

I tried to find the article on top4runners, nothing there that I saw? I BELIEVE most this thread is regarding the Gen4 skid bolt size, is Gen5 the same that you know of? thx

I can testify that the bolt size for the 5th Gen is M8 x 1.25 x 20mm. Just installed the OEM skid that was missing that I got from a member on another forum.
If you want the factory bolts the P/N has changed to 90080-11373. You may need the bolts that connect the plastic piece from the bumper to the front skid. I haven't figured out what that size is, but the P/N is 90109-06330.

If the OEM steel bolts are lousy, is there any reason not to use these instead?
