Will front struts fit an 05 from my old 2000 model? If not why?

Good question. Not sure but if you want to try you'll need to do this:
1. retain your stock top plate (i.e. from the 3rd gen)
2. this will lift it 2" approx I think since the 4th gen has the extension on the bottom of the shock.
Does this make sense? I dunno why you would want to do this though since you're gaining lift but not really in the travel department since it's still a stock shock.
Anyway give it a try. I'm sure it'll work w/ the correct top plate in place.

A 4th Gen strut might fit an a 3rd Gen, but a 3rd Gen strut wont fit on a 4th Gen. The bottom of the strut has an extension on the 4th Gen to avoid the axle from rubbing against the strut. 2WD might work.
