Just wanted everyone to know the Warn 33025 front trailer hitch will fit our 98 4runners. i didn't have to do any body trimming in the front either.
-remove skid plate
-remove the 2 bolts on either side that secure the tie down locations to the frames. you'll reuse these bolts
-you will have to do a slight bit of grinding on the inside of the vertical tabs so that the tabs are wide enough to slide around the frame.
-reassemble. i moved the tow hook to the driver's side to make it a bit easier to wrap a strap around it. otherwise the opening of the tow hook faces the side of the tow hitch.
-reinstall the skid plate.
-DONE. took me maybe an hour but that's because i had never grinded anything before.
ps. i found a jack and a piece of plywood were great for holding the hitch up to the frame so i could bolt it on.
Good luck! i'm getting ready to do the Great Western Trail here in AZ!
