I guess my question with the LED arrangements is: Do they fit the housing ok? Some of them appear fairly good sized, as in longer than normal 7440 bulbs.

Also, Lou, are those plated bulbs substantially dimmer than stock bulbs, or is it a pretty miniscule difference?

Just trying to ascertain which route would be the best for a compromise on safety/style.

they are slightly less bright...and the amber color is more "yellow" I guess...I'm completely satisfied with the brightness and color though.

What are the good ones though? There's a lot of different ones out there. I see lots of different designs and who knows who's making them. Plus, how do you know how many LED's you need for a given brightness. The ones you used have a ton of LED's - they must be extremely bright.

The DRLs are the turn signals on 4Runners with DRLs enabled. I think there might be an extra filament in the bulb, but I'm not 100% sure.

FYI: EH007 was correct. Those with DRLs need a dual filament bulb. I put the single filament bulbs in my tails and will be ordering dual filament 3157s. I have DRL.

DRL 4runners use a different one than non DRL 4 runner.

I bought the 3157 but they dont fit the housing unit.

I believe (not sure) the 992 is the smaller one that fit 4runners without DRL.

The 3157 bulbs fit my 2004 4Runner with DRL. It was tight, but I haven't had any issues.
