Front Wheel Bearings?

The 3,000+ round trip to Moab and back has taken it's toll on my front wheel bearings.

For those that have tackled this job the FSM isn't much help. What tools (specifically - what size wheel nut socket size) do I need to do this at home?

Also - what size bolt is needed to back off the axle hub to the steering knuckle?

I've done this before on other vehicles, but haven't tried it on my 4Runner yet.

Thought I would ask the experts here first before running to the parts store.

This helped me alot on mine.

Would reccomend new rotors so you dont have to tear it down again for awhile.

just did the same job last week on my '95

I needed a 54mm socket to remove the outer wheel bearing hub nuts and a torque wrench to properly torque the nuts when i re-installed the hubs

17mm socket to remove the caliper, 19mm to remove the steering arm from the knuckle (had to remove the steering arm cuz the brake line is attached here), i used blue loctite when reassembling these items

a standard punch and hammer is needed if you are replacing the bearings/races, use a quality high temp disc brake wheel bearing grease to pack the bearings
