Front wheel plastic liner trimmed - issues?

So like many of you with bigger wheels/tires, I trimmed off the plastic piece that runs ahead of the front wheels.

I should've thought this through better perhaps, but wondering if I'll run into any issues by having these parts exposed in a rainy climate.

This shot is taken with the camera facing up into the liner piece that was trimmed off. It goes all the way to the headlight connections.

I'd appreciate any advice esp those who've run it this way for a while. Thanks!

This doesn't really answer your question man, but you can just un-screw the fender liner from it's clips and push it forward to relocate it. That's what I did and I don't have any rubbing issues or exposed parts. On one side I was able to move it forward one fastener position and on the other I just fixed it in place with large cable ties. If you wanted to you could even drill new holes for the screws and clips.

It looks like you are running the risk of slinging a lot of crud where it shouldn't be. Hopefully somebody can tell you that you'll be ok. Good luck man.

I'm running Toyo MTs so there was just no room to push it forward that far so had to resort to cutting. Appreciate you adding your thoughts regardless!

I hacked mine up good, even trimmed the front bumper on both sides to prevent rubbing, and I don't see any issues with it. Maybe if you go mudding you might throw some dirt and mud up there but you should be fine.

I cut mine all to hell just like yours. I haven't had an issue yet and don't expect one. I just watch mine and spray it down when it gets dirty.

My liner is cut all the way up to the bottom edge of the washer bottle on the P-side and pulled back. Same scenario with the height of the trimming on the drivers side. My fender liners are trimmed way more than yours and have been cut like that for for more than 2 years and I never have had an issue. I would say you are completley fine and have nothing to worry about with how much you have trimmed

I visited my dealership friend and he said not to worry either. The splash doesn't occur in that spot anyways.
