Sometimes things change, and I've decided to move on from my 4runner. I bought it from the original owner a little over a year ago, and it came with a stack of dealer maintenance records. I have since driven about 40k and my needs are a little bit different now. I have done a bunch to the vehicle since I've owned it, including an axle swap to a locker with and inchworm harness. I've also lifted it with Bilstein 5100s all around and OME 881 and 890 coils. The sway bar bushings front and rear are new from energy suspension and I've also replaced the steering rack bushings. The tires are Cooper Discoverer AT3 tall and skinny 235/85/16 with a lot of life left. It also has a double din pioneer deck with bluetooth and all that stuff.
There are some things to work on but overall, I drive a bazillion miles and it's a great truck. Break pads are worn and I would do the tundra brakes if I were going to keep it, but I might leave them or just pad-slap it, as there hasn't been any warping yet. The front axles have thrown a small amount of grease after the lift, but not much, and there has been no noise. I replaced the power steering pump after the original got noisy. I currently have a front bumper from the earlier 3rd gens on it, but I may have a front and rear with tire swingout soon. If that happens, price will go up. The biggest thing that could be addressed is the clutch. The feel and engagement are great, and there isn't ever any slipping, but the release bearing is noisy. The locker isn't engaging and disengaging. I was waiting for the warm weather to trouble shoot the wiring and the motor, but it's just open right now. It did engage the first time that I tried it, but didn't disengage, so I pulled the motor out and manually unlocked it and put the motor back in. The Inchworm harness and switch are brand new, but I suppose it's always possible that the issue is in that. It could also just be that the motor needs to be opened up and cleaned a little. Additionally, there is some frame rust in the usual spot (passenger rear, by the muffler). I have washed the car with every fuel up this winter, and it doesn't seem to be getting worse or anything. There are a couple of other quarter sized spots on the body, but overall it's pretty decent.
