FS: 3rd Gen 2001 4runner 4X4 SR5 TRD SUPERCHARGED / URD 7th injection ($5,000) NY

That's a horrible deal they offered you! They offered you 3,000-3,500?? Adding the remaining 2k to the other loan is hardly a favor on their end. That's standard for anyone who walks in there still owing money. I would never take that deal! Your super charger alone is worth more that 1k. The worst thing a person can do is rush a sale/buy. Don't cost yourself money.

Yeah, I'll admit, I guess I'm rushing a little.

Dealerships don't care about any aftermarket upgrades like the ones i've put on, they're looking at the kbb or nada or whatever else... and my truck at 14 years old and 191,000 miles... isn't topping any charts in those places...

If there was one place where i thought people could overlook the age of the truck... 14 years... the milage of the truck... 191,000... and the minor things wrong with it, which i suppose include the undercarriage rust... i figured it would be here...

...a group of 4runner enthusiasts who could appreciate the work done to it and have it be something still desirable...

but i watched the thread view count skyrocket. and very view offers come in.

I thought that either I was asking too much... or... that people didn't want it because it was a 2001 with too much of the electronic throttle / traction control system... no rear locking diff like the 99 models have... or that it was automatic and not 5-speed....

...or the simple fact that the newer 4runners with 4.0 liter engines may be more accessible now, and why would someone who is picky about performance want the older 3.4L

I had no idea... but after I recently found a car that I liked... at a dealership who offered me something on it... I'm just kind of over it.

I appreciate concern over trade in values and such... but...

it seems to me, unless i dump money into this myself to fix rust, it's going to be a tough sell even with performance parts.

Dude, trust that every view you've had was by someone who appreciates your vehicle and the upgrades it has. The biggest thing that people worry about when buying the 3rd gens is rust. But yours can be worked on. I'm sure someone would do the work themselves for a lower asking price. 6k seems more than fair. And I Just bought an 01 sr5 sport. People want elockers, yes, but they can be added later. The atrac cannot be added. The super chargers are on listed on here for $1k-2k when they come up. And that's rare. Everyone knows you have a sweet rig. But they ask just wish you had kept up with the rust. That's all. Someone will probably put in the work. Even at 6k. Don't rush. This site goes through phases. I finally joined because there were a few modded out rigs for sale. I was 2nd in line for both. But then found the one I bought. Ended up spending the same price on mine without the aftermarket armor. I'm happy though. But like I said, give it some time. And work on the rust. Or wait till dinner and work on it. Wait on the wrx.
Oh and we all like the trd exhaust too

Ok ok, I will take your advice and consider selling the toyota and not trading it in...

i DO have one interested party that is fairly local to me, who I am supposed to speak with this evening.

I will try to work out a deal with them...

They've seen the photos of the undercarriage, and I think read this thread too, so opinions like yours have perhaps helped them feel better about what they're buying as well.

I appreciate you taking the time to voice your opinions :) I'll keep you posted if you want to know...

Well if you decide to trade it in, be sure to remove those tires and the supercharger. Because at that price, they're not paying for them. I mean shit... One of those guys at the dealership will probably be driving around with your wheels on. Lol.
Anyways, wish I could afford the wheels right now.
Oh and send me the piaas and rear spoiler if you end up trading in. :)

Now THIS i can work with you on... if i end up trading it in... yes...

the spoiler i could technically remove remove... the wheels are sold, sorry... the Piaa's I could take off easily enough... and... we can certainly work out a deal.

the supercharger on the other hand, i'm not 100% sure that have enough of the original intake manifold and related parts to swap it all back to stock. I have the upper and lower plenums, but have moved several times and the box of bolts and gaskets and other assorted things is probably MIA. the URD kit was a pretty solid/permanent install with splicing the fuel line into it, soldering all wires, and of course putting the walbro 190LPH fuel pump in the tank. I spent many hours tuning it to work with the install so... i don't know... it would take ME a lot of work to remove it... if someone else showed up and did the swap themselves... it would sure be easier... just thinking out loud.

Yeah I'm sure the supercharger wouldn't be an easy pull.

No not too easy... i'd also have to find the stock belt tensioner and swap that out, and get a stock belt... don't have those either.

in any case,

I just spoke with the interested party... he basically wants it to be as affordable as possible... i offered him $5500 minus wheels, alpine components / subwoofers, piaa fogs...

we didn't discuss the rear spoiler... although depending on what you'd want to buy it for (pre-painted which cost me extra on top of the spoiler which came primer gray i think) ... i assume i could go lower if i took it off and sold it to you if you're interested?

I'll PM you.
