FS: 40" LED Light Bar KC HiLites $225 Chicago

For sale is a KC HiLites 40" clear light-bar with KC's wiring harness, relay, and switch (basically everything it came with).

I did splice the harness negative wire to run the negative and positive wires separately down both sides of the windshield (as other forum members had). This way, I didn't have to cut into anything to mount the light. So, I left the extended negative wire attached to the harness. You can use it, or splice it back into the original location in the harness. The light-bar comes with everything that was in the box (including the KC mounting brackets...not in the picture).

NOTE: Light was installed in June 2017 and taken off this past weekend to sell the roof rack. So, it is quite new. Also, the brackets in the picture are not the KC brackets. The brackets in the picture came with the Gobi rack.

Not to thread jack, but just got one of these and wasn't aware about splitting the wire down both sides of the windshield do you have a link?

I will have to locate a suitable box, but I can ship. You will have to cover the shipping of course and the fee of Paypal if we use that for the transfer of money. I think it's like 3%. Found that out the hard way on the last thing that I sold. LOL PM me if you want.

Thanks for the BUMP! ;)

Because I did not want to drill into the roof of the 4Runner, I split the negative and positive wires so that I could shimmy it down the sides of the windshield. You do not have to do this of course, but it fits much more freely when splitting them up. Then, you have to run the negative wire back to the drivers side of the engine bay to meet up with the harness for a clean look. To separate the wires, I simply removed some of the protective rubber housing from the harness and fished out the negative wire. You do have to cut the wire from the harness connector though to separate it. I left a good amount of wire there if I ever wanted to reconnect it.

When running the wires down the windshield, some people simply tucked it into the rubber channel, and others lifted the channel and tucked the wire underneath that for a super clean look. There are a few posts regarding this that you can search for.

Hopefully, that answered the question a little bit at least.
