For those who have gotten their racks RECENTLY...when did you get it and when did you order it?

I'm trying to figure out when I might get mine based on your order history so I don't have to bug Alex. I ordered mine right before the new year.

Ordered mine just before, or right at Thanksgiving.

Which puts it at about 11 weeks right?

I ordered mine the 1st week of Feb. and at that time he said between 8 and 11 weeks. Looks like he's probably underestimating the time a bit so I'd give him at least 11 weeks, maybe 12, before bugging him.

It was also pointed out a few posts back (might have gotten buried), but Alex had some personal matters come up recently.

He's running a pretty lean operation so hopefully everyone will remain patient with him while he builds you're awesome racks and deals with his real life as well.

It's worth it.

Bottom line.

It is worth it.. Yes some personal things came up, and yes 12 weeks should be standard but...

Order a Gobi? wait 8 weeks and pay 2x the price....

I ordered mine the last week of October, and got it two weeks ago. Now, there was some custom work involved in mine so it took longer than the standard one.

I am impressed with mine and it's definitely worth the wait.

I received mine early December after approx 16 weeks. It's a very nice rack and overall well built; however, check your welds.

On mine, the top weld of the last floor crossbar was missed, causing some rust spots to drop to the roof. I'm not a welder so I just put some silicone to seal the hole to stop the rust from forming. In addition, I found another spot where the weld/powder coating didn't quite cover a spot the size of a pin head so I'm getting some rust spots there too. I'm going to clean it and put a dab of silicone to plug the hole and maybe some rustoleum. I don't believe either of these flaws affect the structural integrity considering how well the rest of the rack is built.

Just something to check on your rack.

overall I am quite happy and it was worth the wait.

Being patient is hard Especially when everyone that gets one says how nice it is.

I have no reason to rush Alex on mine. Even if he did get it done sooner, I'm planning to drive down to get it and won't be able to do that until mid-May at the earliest (and he's aware of my timetable too). I could sure use it this weekend. But I'll just have to make do with the standard crossbars.

Thanks for the replies. I'm hoping for the end of the month or so based on your timetables. I'm not frustrated or upset or anything. It's just easier to be patient when you can see light at the end of the tunnel.

No advertising. He does this on the side at his shop. All I can say is thank God he is doing this. I absolutely love the rack, and so glad I didn't spend $400-$600 more on another brand!

+1 I also like how his front cross bar isn't raised like the Gobi. I don't get why Gobi did that.

I placed my order early March, looks like it might be one ahead.
Still skiing and riding up here so no hurry now, but the month of May will be anxious. Need the rack for fishing season.

For those interested, I got this email last night:

At the time our son was hospitalized, Alex was working on approximately 5 prior to yours. Alex is estimating that those 5 will be complete by mid to end of next week. Your rack will be in production towards the end of next week, along with a few others. At the pace that he’s going, it should take about 7 business days to tack and weld your rack. .
