HOLY CRAP! Exactly what I'm looking for! Does this thing have any tabs in front or rear for lighting?

Yea, it has a mounting plate on the front. As for the rear, he custom made mine for rear lights. I sent him the light and he fabricated the rack for it. The only issue is that the left rear light won't fit because of the Gobi ladder. I've spoken with Alex about how to resolve it, but I think I'm just going to run the right side light - it's plenty bright for what I need and I don't think it looks bad with just one light.

He's a great guy to work with and I think he likes the challenge of custom work. I highly recommend his product.

Wind disturbance?

Does anyone have information regarding wind buffeting with the sun roof open at high speeds when you have a full length rack? I just didn't know if there was an issue with it. I love these racks!

Rear bumper is CBI.

I made a whole new fairing. It's about 2 inches taller and 2 inches longer allowing it to completely touch the roof line and still cover the front of the rack. I ordered a 3/16 sheet of abs on eBay and made a few versions. First was straight but the bottom corners didn't touch which created a vibration. So the one on now has the bottom corners angled downward like the one Alex supplied. I finished it off with some thick rubber edge trim. Came out nice.

Gobi Fairing on Camelback RR ?

Does anyone know if a Gobi Fairing will work in place of the wind fairing that Alex Supplied? I have had my Rack for over a year now but the wind fairing bit the dust when my wife drove through an aggressive car wash. I tried to fix it but no luck. I found a Gobi wind fairing online but not sure if the brackets and holes will work with the Camelback. I would cover or remove the Gobi label of course.

I sent an email to Camelback Metal Gear today. I'm interested in his full length shark rack for sunroof. I have 2012 Limited. If I read correctly, the guy may be injured or seriously backed up. If so, any recommendations on a similar rack to get in the next three weeks? We're moving from Idaho to Bend and leaving the pickup we used to shuttle our Kayaks in Idaho. So, I'll need a rack for the 4runner fairly quickly. I feel like these type of "safari" racks are the way to go since you can strap down kayaks, or extra camping gear, or bikes, or whatever under 300lbs without buying all kinds of yakima or thule attachments. Am I wrong in this thinking? Will I still need to buy J-bars from Thule or yakima my kayak, etc, etc?

The closet thing I saw to the same profile as the Camelback is the Gobi Stealth roof rack? It's expensive but at least I'd be kayaking in a few weeks. Has anyone used this rack or recommend something else?

Even a Gobi won't make it to you in three weeks. Maybe you could find a Baja in stock somewhere, but that timeframe probably is too aggressive.

Oh damn, you're correct. Gobi says ships in 4 to 6 weeks. I guess I'll have to just get some Thule or Yakima cross bars for the time being and strap the kayaks to them.

Hopefully, Camelback replies to my email and I get one started.

Ok, that's what I was thinking, I was just unsure of the load capacity of those bars.
