FS:'97 4Runner SR5 4x4, with blown engine in Los Banos, CA, $750 and you tow away

For someone looking for a project. Has 341,795 miles on it. Has been regularly maintained but I think the mechanic that replaced the timing belt in June boggled the job and caused the engine failure. Has never been in an accident and I have clean title in hand. Azure Blue Pearl color.

What i would have thought too, but given OP post history and username, i think shes just trying to get rid of it..

Yes, I bought a 2000 SR5, very clean, dealer maintained, with 142,000 miles on it that I'm very happy with.

Hmmm, I'm interested. Any more info on it? Automatic? Any rust issues? How's the transmission and other maintenance items? I'm in Santa Cruz and may be interested in making a deal.

Automatic transmission, no problems with it so far. No rust issues to speak of-I've noticed a little rust on L corner of rear back bumper but that's all-driven in Western states only. Tires have 35,000 miles on them. The only parts that have been replaced on it are the starter, the fuel pump, the alternator and the water pump (when the timing belt was replaced). Also the valve cover gaskets. Regular oil changes and I always get any noise or problem that I notice looked at. I have all the maintenance records. I'm available on Sunday if you want to look at it. (or late Saturday afternoon).

The interior wasn't in that bad of condition at all. Just some stains from being a 374k vehicle. OldLady is great to work with and I wish I had had the funds to seal the deal for this 4runner. She really took care of this vehicle and it should be a great project for anyone.

I think grey/blue interior was the only choice with that exterior color.

That's a sweet deal. If you weren't across the country then I would have taken it a while ago.

I didn't see the 4runner in person as it's about 1.5 hours away, but OldLady sent some pictures of it to me. I would have picked it up, but I didn't have that much expendable income and it would have sat for too long till I got an engine in it. OldLady was a pleasure to deal with though.

$750 is already super cheap, no need to lowball to save a few hundred.

If that was in Washington, it would already be in my driveway. I have all the parts (interior included!) to fix it up and make it a nice DD
