Hitchgate Tire Carrier with the offset mount and license plate relocation kit.
I purchased this Wilco Hitchgate to increase my rear clearance for a month long road trip to offroad in Colorado. It helped give me a bunch of extra clearance in the rear and helped me complete Engineer Pass and Imogene Pass and also saved my rear bumper several times when I hit angles that were too extreme. Worked like a champ.

The thing is built like a tank, is wobble-free due to their cool mounting design, can tow up to 7600 pounds using the pass through 2" hitch mount. All in all, it's an awesome solution for people that don't want to add a full-time plate rear bumper with a tire carrier.

Now that the adventure is over I am selling it since I will not need it for driving around town or down forest roads here in WNC.

The tire carrier is part of a system that you can add-on separately. They have 2 different Hi-Lift mounting options and a Jerry Can Mounting Kit.

Anyway, it is in perfect condition except for a scrapes on the bottom side from ground contact. They are pretty minimal. A little black paint maintenance is all that is needed.

Selling in the WNC area only. It weighs 100# and packaging it for shipment would be a HUGE pain in the ass.

I wish I could but it would be a really huge pain in the ass to ship. When I received it from Wilco it was in 2 massive boxes and they had used spray foam to protect it and hold it in place. Was pretty awesome actually but for me to repack in a way that would actually get to you would be really time consuming.

I'm in Cali, so not going to make the drive, but have a question about the product and hope you can share some experience.

I'm looking to find a solution for a full size spare, as my 4runner is my DD a full rear bumper isn't super practical. I've been looking at the Wilco as a possible alternative. How does the product handle taking it on and off for just off roading? Is it easy? Heavy (without the wheel/tire)?
Overall review of the product / would you buy again etc?

If I was going to do any serious offroading I 100% would buy it again for two reasons: 1/ It got my spare out from under the car. That alone would have gotten us stuck more than once, and 2/ It saved my rear bumper from being ripped off the car 3 times.

The thing I loved about it is that once we got home from Colorado I could just take it off. It is a perfect solution for a weekend warrior that wants a normal car the rest of the time.
