Here's the story:
I bought this vehicle from Montana strictly to make my commute from San Diego to San Luis Obispo, CA - about 300 miles. Unfortunately, the dealer I bought it from neglected to inform me of the issues it had. Fast forward to the present, a lot of headache, some TLC, and a very little amount of $ spent on fuel, the car is actually in decent shape.
All in all, the vehicle is not the prettiest to look at. However, if you're looking at this vehicle, you're not looking to purchase or trade for the looks- you're looking at the 60 mpg you'd be getting with it. Vehicle has 241K miles and 5-speed manual.
Pros:
-60 mpg. Literally. Not an exaggeration. I can go 900 miles on a tank of fuel without any worry.
-new fuel filter
-new air filter
-new coolant lines
-new brakes
-new tires
-Passanger front half axel rebuilt
-oil change every 5k
Cons:
-Although there are still quite a few issues with the car, I am planning to get a lot of them taken care of soon and prior to trading/selling.
-needs vacuum lines (will soon be replaced)
-needs coolant o-ring (will soon be replaced)
-needs timing belt (will soon be replaced)
-needs water pump (will soon be replaced with timing belt)
-driver side window off track (will soon be fixed, just not a priority currently)
-sunroof motor burned out
-windshield cracked
-check engine light is on due to me placing cover plate over EGR valve (its a '97, it doesn't need an EGR valve!)
-fuel injection pump was sealed due to leaking, no longer leaks and works perfectly
-Passanger side was scrapped, still don't have an answer from the dealer that it was purchased from as to how it happened.
Although there is no change of me getting $3k, I'm asking obo because I'd rather trade for a 4WD. Preferred vehicles for trade:
-3rd gen 4Runner (must be 4WD)
-2nd gen 4Runner (must be 4WD)
-MAKE AN OFFER!! I am willing to throw in a little cash also. Just make me an offer.
