Um dealers are blaming poor fuel for injector damage left and right. And hpfp failure as well. It's a very common excuse for them to weasel out of a $10,000 repair for a complete fuel system replacement. It's even more prevalent in the diesel engines.
If you let them get away with that you're crazy. For them to deny warranty for something like that they have to prove it was the fuel.
Can you post an example? BMW blamed fuel for HPFP failures on the N54 engines, but they warrantied every single one of them, and then extended the warranty to 110k miles out of fear of EPA backlash.
The emissions system warranty isn't the same as the vehicle manufacturer's warranty. The coverage on that stuff is mandated by the EPA regardless of the standard warranty.
