Fuel gauge problems

I filled up to fuel yesterday and today my fuel gauge unexpectedly dropped to E and the light came on shortly after. Now the fuel gauge is between Fuel and the 3/4th mark and has been that way for quite some miles now. The HVAC screen reads 0 miles before empty. I tried checking the gauge fuse under my dash and it seems to be fine. Not sure what else it could be? It is an 05 with 175k on it.

that happened to me too i just pulled the positive battery cable for a few min and it went back to normal.

dome light fuse, just change out to new one, also if you did any modding to the cluster? led swap?

No mods have been done recently, cluster is stock. I will try some new fuses.

So I changed some fuses and filled up all the way again and the fuel gauge went back up and the HVAC screen read correctly, then this morning I added some full injector cleaner into my gas tank and the needle went to E and the light came on again. After driving a few miles the needle is now at about 1/4...

What else is there that I can check for this problem? I tried searching but it seems like only the 3rd gens (1999 specifically) have had malfunctions in the fuel sending unit but I could not dig up anything regarding 4th gens with this problem.

There is a way to reset the cluster, it's in the service manual, I remember u turn the key to on, wait for the chime, hold the reset button and it chimes again .

i started a thread a while ago, but try this, it worked for me.
INCLINATION SENSOR ZERO DEGREE
CORRECTION
NOTICE:
• When replacing or removing/installing the
combination meter assembly and inclination
sensor assembly, be sure to perform zero degree
correction of the inclination sensor.
• When performing zero degree correction, install
the combination meter assembly and perform it in
level surface.
• Also perform zero degree correction when the
body level setting is inclined because of vehicle
height adjustment.
(a) Turn the ignition switch off.
(b) While pressing the RESET switch, turn the ignition
switch on.
(c) Within 5 seconds after the ignition switch is turned
on, repeat pressing and releasing the RESET
switch 3 times and keep holding the last press for
more than 5 seconds. (Buzzer sounds for a second)
NOTICE:
If the buzzer does not sound, perform this
procedure from the beginning.
(d) Release the RESET switch when buzzer sounds.
(e) Press the RESET switch again and keep pressing
for more than 5 seconds. (Buzzer sounds for a
second again)
HINT:
• When the buzzer sounds twice, reset operation is
completed.
• The buzzer sound of the first and second time is
the same.
NOTICE:
If the buzzer does not sound or keep sounding
for more than 1 second, perform the procedure
from the beginning.
