Fuel Injection Cleaner

I do it only a few times a year. Like 4-5 times per year. It probably has no effect at that frequency but ehh whatever. I use the Techron one.

I use Lucas every other or every three fill-ups. I honestly can't say it improves my engines performance, but it makes me feel better. It's also pretty cheap per use when you buy the gallon jug and use an Advance Auto Parts coupon.

BG 44k. This is the best FI cleaner out there to drop in the tank IMO. Redline also makes a good one.

If one has never used FI cleaner before, I'd start with a third of a bottle/can and add it to a full tank, then add the remaining two thirds on the next fill up. Then change the oil. Be prepared to change the fuel filter, BG 44k clogged mine up.

44k is ok but gives a low end knock on most cars but does not clog filters its the gunk in the fuel system that is cleaned from the lines like cheap gas has trash in it

I use a bottle of Techron a tank or two before I plan to do an oil change. 143k trouble free miles so far.

I use the Redline offering. Great results on abused vehicles that have had god knows what for fuel put in them. If you usually run quality fuels, you probably won't see a huge difference. I still have yet to need to change a fuel filter on any of my 30+ Toyota's regardless of what cleaners I have run.

Though i've used Techron with great success, I've been using Seafoam of late. Its available in a gallon-sized container; great for the trucks and the equipment on the farm. From a standpoint of effectiveness, I find Seafoam interchangeable with Techron.

Firestone did a fuel system service and it really made a difference in her car so figured i would run the stuff through mine. IS it best to put it in the tank before filling up or after the tank is full ? My tank is 18.5 gallons the manual says. I always thought this was added to gas at the pump? Bought the Chevron Techron Concentrate Fuel System Cleaner since got 40 oz for $11.99 and i use Sunoco or Mobil gas.

I've used BG's 44K once a year on all my cars since '96 and once a year if fine for this stuff since it's pretty strong along with being a little pricey.

The Techron bottle says its good for 8-12 gallons so usually add it to the tank when its half full and run it down to E. Preferrably adding it just before a road trip so the constant flow and injector use helps scrub the pintle clean. So if you add it to a tank of gas, you want to rinse it down with fresh gas. The concentrated injector cleaner will degrade the filler neck if its allowed to sit there. So rinse it or wait to add when you are filling up. I use a little gas from the can in my garage (non-oiled gas) to chase it.

do you add it to full tank or empty one and what grade of gas do you use?

Before or after really doesn't make a difference. It'll mix the first time you stop from the gas sloshing.
I add it before I fillup. I don't know if it will damage the filler hose if it sits on it full strength.
I use the lowest octane that the station has. I have tried the high octane and have had zero improvement in mpg or performance. It doesn't ping on the low octane so why spend the extra money.
I really don't care what brand gas I buy either.

Has anyone had gas gauge problems after using Gas City gas? My gauge went wonky where it wouldn't read above 3/4 tank. A few fresh tanks with Mobil seems to have fixed it.
