Fuel Injector O Rings to Change?

Hi, so quick question I couldn't find a clear answer to in any of the threads. I have a 99 Runner, SR5 V6, and I need to replace one of the fuel injectors. On other threads it said to make sure that you replace the O rings on any injector that lifts out with the fuel rail (I only plan on raising passenger side rail).

The injectors have an O ring at the top, one at the bottom and a grommet at the bottom, do the comments refer to the O ring on the top of the injector (near the wire clip), or the bottom O ring, or the grommet?

Also, on the 3rd Gen runners, is it true I can pull the fuel rail on the passenger side (Cylinders 1,3,5) without removing the intake plenum?

It's true, but very tight and you run the risk of breaking one of the injectors off on the driver's side.
I did that and had to pull the intake manifold to get to it. Luckily, the valve was shut enough to block it. Long needle nose pliers were necessary to reach it.

It's a pain, but I'd recommend removing the air intake so you can apply steady pressure when removing the fuel rail.
Buy a few packs of the o-rings just to be safe; 2 for each injector, 1 on either end. Make sure to lube with fuel first.

Thanks for the reply! When I ordered the fuel injector I also ordered a 4 pack of O rings so assuming my new injector comes with all the necessary pieces, I'll have 2 to swap on the other injectors on that rail.
