Fuel Pump interupt for Alarm

Installing an alarm on a 1991 4Runner, 3.0.

I'm planning to interrupt the fuel pump power rather than the starter due to it being a standard tranny and I'm sure a push start is possible with out the starter working.

Point is I know there is a lead for the fuel pump that goes directly to the ignition switch. I've read the diagrams available on-line but none say the color wire (which would be easier for me)

Anyone know which wire (what color wire) is coming from the ignition switch that powers up the fuel pump?

My other option is to route up from the blue wire under the driver seat that goes to the fuel pump but I want to avoid excessive wiring and splicing.

Doing this on Sunday so if anyone know I'd appreciate your sharing of knowledge.
Thanks! Cynthia

No, there is not a line directly from the Ign sw to the fuel pump.

Fuel pump power is controlled by the Ckt Opening Rly, which is controlled by a switch in the AFM. The COR gets power from the EFI rly, which gets power from the EFI and IGN fuses.

The best place to interrupt the circuit would be the Green wire between the AFM switch and COR. The COR is above the pass side kick panel so it's convenient, and if there is a problem with the alarm system you can always override it and get power to the fuel pump by jumping the 2 terminals in the test connector.

personally i wouldnt do a starter kill or any kill with the alarm. i have see too many vehicles not start because the alarmed failed after a several years.

your better of doing the alarm more for doors and shock sensor plus keyless entry. than do a hidden kill switch to fuel pump or something that wont let it start

Yes, which is why I gave the OP a path that could be over-ridden in an emergency.

Sorry for Not being clearer, I meant to say it goes to the EFI relay.

But I appreciate your answer! Solves My issue... Green Wire it is! :becky:
