Fuel pump recall with aftermarket gas tank skid plate

Has anyone with a heavy steel aftermarket gas tank skid plate had any issues with the dealer not wanting to do the fuel pump recall because they do not want to remove and reinstall that heavy steel skid plate? I was asking to see if I need to remove it myself (I hope not) before I get the work done.

you should remove it yourself.

Unless you want them to round off all the bolts after they lose half of them and never say anything to you about it.

Dealership mechanics are idiots, remove all possibility of them being able to damage or do anything wrong that they wont be liable for.
