Fuel Pump Wiring Diagram

Hey Everyone,
I'm hoping someone can help with finding a wiring diagram for the Fuel Pump / Connector in an 02 SR5.

I actually have a Wiring Diagram (EWD471U) for an 02 but it does not match what is in my vehicle.

I've searched this forum and a general google search but have not found references specifically for 02 models which have different connectors than the 96-00 models.

I've attached a photo of the connector for the fuel pump from my 02 4Runner. Everything I've researched indicates it should be a blue/orange power wire and a white/black ground wire. Neither of these wires exist on my connector (there is a blue and white wire but they don't have the correct corresponding stripe colors plus this is an 11 PIN connector vs the 5 PIN ones I've seen for prior model years.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

I don't think that is the fuel pump plug. Where exactly did you find it? On the rear seat strut, maybe? The five wire plug is under the access panel under the rear seat on the top of the fuel tank. I strongly doubt your rig is any different from all the others, unless maybe you have a 2003, not a third gen....

here is a pic of the access plate. The five wire plug is under there.

See the five wire socket on top of the tank?

TheDurk,
Thank you! I was in the right area but I didn't see the right connector. If you don't mind I edited your image to help someone in the future.

My apologies for wasting anyone's time. I was in a hurry and didn't read the manual thoroughly enough.

I won't have access to the 4Runner until tomorrow but this gets me back on track.

I hope that someone here can help me out. have a 1997 4runner v-6 that starts but dies as soon as you go from start to run with the key. It will run at high rpms around 3,000 but it sounds rough. Put a new fuel pump in it, but the other one has been tested and its good. HELP!!!!!

First guess is Crank Position Sensor. Fuel pump will die if it doesn't get a good signal as soon as key is released.

Do you mean the cam sensor? I don't think it actually has a crankshaft sensor but it has a sensor on the passenger side by the camshaft pulley.

Also the idle control that lets it idle fast when cold and controls the idle speed when warm. You know what the proper name is. anyway it's location is just below the throttle plate and lets air bypass the throttle plate buzzes real fast (at least 15 times a second) I know it's controlled by a magnetic impulse that controls a drum that lets in air. The one I have on my V6 is white and has 3 wires going to it.

NAME= AIC :-)

How to test and clean it.

Those parts are relatively inexpensive. I replaced most of the sensors in my minor resto. BE CAREFUL OF THE WIRING CONNECTORS! I found my oil pressure wire broken, due to my handling or...? I donnow. Thankfully , all are also available, but do take care in unplugging anything.

Does any one know what this white plug is. Sorry new to this.

Does anyone know what this white plug is?. New to this thanks in advance

What colour wires either positive or ground. Belong to the fuel pump. Splicing kill switch in under rocker panel. And would either work?
Thanks.
Any tips would be helpful. I plan to do another kill switch. Ideas or recommended locations of switch or splice would be appreciated.

03 4.0 liter
Wiring diagram would be very helpful. Or just help a guy out and tell me which wires. I don't want to oke at tiny wires all night.

An electrical test trick I saw once, using a multi-meter, is to stick thin pins into the backside -along the wire- of a connector. Makes testing for continuity or voltage non-destructive. After completed with analysis-remove pins and smear a tiny dab of sealant on the puncture, if concerned about corrosion.

You'll want to check the 4th gen section. Or just check with a multimeter while the truck is running.

(white with a black stripe is often ground in Toyota, as is brown. Black with a colored strip is often power - so don't assume black is ground)
