Yep, no problem. There are some write-ups, but if you disconnect the fill tube from the tank (there are 4 or 5 screws that hold it in), you can get a hose in there to siphon the remaining gas out. Or better yet, if you can...run it until it is almost empty and then you don't have to worry about that step. You definitely want to empty it as much as possible before you drop it...just makes your life that much easier. I smashed my tank up off-roading and have taken it off a number of times now. Finally got the tank skid plate and a new gas tank and it's all good now, though! Good luck!
