Fuel Starvation / 1994 4R 3.0L FI / Need help

Purchased a 1994 Toy 4R, SR5, 4X4, 5-speed manual, 3.0L V6, F.I., loaded with options & 192K miles. Unit sat up for 5 years in Texas. Removed & cleaned fuel tank (not rusted) and replaced fuel pump, strainer & filter. Did not "seal" tank. Unit started right up & ran great for 8 months. But, now experiencing symptoms of fuel starvation again. Stopped running requiring tow home. Started up again but, only for 5 minutes & stopped. Appears no fuel flow BUT....? Would appreciate input on symptoms and advice on how to check fuel flow & pressure. Thanks in advance. Regards from TEXAS. (NEW MEMEBER).:help:

Probably needs a regulator (location: end of fuel rail). I would also replace the f-pump and EFI relays(both inexpensive). Old pumps have a way of cooking those relays. Since you've replaced the pump with new, that is probably fine. The regulators are just a delicate rubber diaphragm. The ethanol they are putting in petrol these days just rots them out. The pressure from the newer pump on that old rubber has probably not prolonged it's service life span any.

Hey 77'911: Thanks for the get back. I've ordered a new Borg Warner fuel pressure valve. Will install & advise result. Already replaced the EFI relay when did pump. 30amp EFI fuse looks good. Will do fuel filter too, just for good measure. They're cheap. Wish me luck !! I'll get back. Regards from TEXAS !!
