Fuel tank capacity for 2000 6cyl SR5?

Just picked up a used 2000 SR5 but no owners manual and I'm not sure what the fuel tank capacity is. Surely this is an easily answered question. Trying not to run it dry to find out!

most owners manuals have the fuel tank capacity in there somewhere.

Thanks! About what I was guessing. With no Owners manual, I was trying to estimate between what the fuel gauge indicated (I don't trust it) and how much I was putting in to top off the tank.

I was hoping someone had an owners manual and could quote what is listed. The link to the earlier thread is helpful too.

call your local dealership and they will provide you with a number that you can call and request a owners manual for your rig. it should cost you about 20 bucks or so.

That is correct. I consider it a bit small, you have to fill up more often.

Yep 18.5 is correct.

They use the same size fuel tank on the Camry,Solara,Sienna,Tacomma.

If you want to squeeze more fuel shake the body while filling up. That will get some air pockets out and alow more fuel. I had about 1/2 a quater tank left and filled up 17.3 gallons to top off yesterday. Gas price was $2.03 per gallon so I had to milk it! LOL

Thanks! 18.5 is good to know. At 16mpg , I better give up on going nuch more than 275 miles on a fill-up.

Last reset with only 1/2 a quater tank I used 425 miles with only about 100 miles being highway.

Gentle driving though. ECT button off.

This is what you would call "Normal Driving". Any more and I would be driving like great grandma
