Fuel Tank Relocation (and new Rear Bumper design)

I'm in the parts collection process of this project.... the bronco graveyard no longer has the upper straps.

what did you use? please advise?

I went to a Pick-A-Part to get the upper straps... I brought the wrong tools so I had to cut them out of the frame with a sawsall. Wish I had seen those Dorman parts, those do look exactly like the correct straps, but I only paid $10.

I can’t remember who made their filler to work for both tanks. Some people have used those landcruiser ones that you have to donate your kidney for. But I swear someone made their own dual filler neck and it looked good. Dirtco maybe??? I’m not on here as much anymore sorry. I guess read through the threads related to this and see if you can find it.

Dirtco had an auxiliary tank, but he ended up using a second filler and vent for the second tank. It's in this thread: Auxiliary Fuel Tank

What about the 38 gallon extended range F150 tank? Product same length and width as the normal F150 tank but 13.75" deep instead of 8".
F150 tank (19 gallon) 34 3/4 x 27 x 7 7/8
F150 tank (38 gallon) 34-3/4 x 27 x 13-3/4
Bronco tank (25 gallon) 31 7/8 x 22 1/4 x 12 3/4

Weight and depth.

3/16” Bumper with dual swing out (35 and two jerry cans), and (thinking about) rear mount winch.

25 gal is 157.5 lbs. 38 gal is 239.4.

That’s a lot of weight hanging off the ass end.

I’m sure I can have leafs made; but that’s even more cost.

I want to keep it as short as possible; but it almost seems like fusing two F150 tanks together is the best way to keep it short.

I just saw your post, sorry about that. Did a little googling and looking at this I'm doubtful it would be a straight swap for the other tank..?

Well I have the tank mounted in the rear, I have have both switched on a Ford fuel selector valve like Kirk mentioned earlier in the thread. It switches while running and everything. Keith's brackets worked perfectly as usual, now I need to get a bumper from him If people want I could post a better writeup on how I put it all in, seems like it would be useful for folks that don't want to have jerry cans hanging on all over their rig.

back on page 32 you can see what I did for hiding the second tank and filler.

On the subject of the ford tank. Ive probably missed a more simple solution somewhere but I was looking to go with matching higher flow pumps in both tanks and had to make a way to fit the deatchwerks 255lph in there. While I could have just made a bracket to put it on the ford sender I really wanted a return cup so it would starve if climbing a hill. This was my solution.

Small check valve with 1/4” line coming off that is for the charcoal canister. I teed it into the one for my existing tank.

I would personally love a kit that included everything but the tank. The tanks are so cheap on Amazon or EBAY that it wouldn't be worth your time to bother.

But a complete fuel pump, wiring, hoses, filler neck, etc would be a killer kit. It would have to be under 300 bucks for all those parts I think to make it worth it.
