Comp...totaled for sure w/ the water getting the deep. No insurance will try to repair that. My companies rule of thumb is water at the "dash level" which gets into the cluster and wireing alllll over. Not to mention the engine issues.
Oh, Comp because most, or at least some companies will have to put you at fault if they use Collision. IF they are willing to do comp, I'm pretty sure you won't be hit for an "at fault loss"....at least if I were your adjuster! LOL

i was told i was covered, but is it better to get it covered from my comp or my collission. I was told by my insurance comp i could use either.

I have both

I saw Comprehensive, as that is usually used in a situation that was not your fault or collision. Both can impact rates. I would ask them for their best advice, but if they say you are covered, then YEA!

Let them total the sucker out and move on.

Haha. Yeah, with freezing fresh water you probably could just park it in the desert and let it air out, but even the desert heat can't fix a hydrolocked engine.

Really glad you're ok and that you guys made it out safely. Obviously cars can be replaced, but people can't. We see too many fatalities here due to cars getting swept off of roadways in flash floods caused by monsoon rains.

Does anyone know where i can buy ALL the wiring for the truck inside and to the engine, and a new dash, ac condenser, etc. anything electric to change out? there is nothing on Kodiak Island.

any help locating this would be GREATLY APPRECIATED. I have no problem paying the shipping to get everything here.

It'd be hard without getting a junkyard truck that just had a front end wreck and buying the whole thing. Part out what you don't need. Honestly, you'll be looking at $5k at least for a truck like that with all the parts you need.

From the dealer, the most expensive parts of the truck are... the engine, transmission, and wiring harness! You're looking at some major cash for that, but a junk yard may give a decent price.
