Fumoto Oil drain Plug F103 issue/question

I bought a Fumoto F103n (which is listed on their website that it will fit my 2004 4runner (4x4 sport). However, when I tried to install it I can see it's too small to fit. The website says it's 12mm (which I confirmed by measuring the F103). I believe the 4runner has a 14mm bolt. After a few searches through the forum it seems that many here have installed a F103 on their 4runner. Is there an adapter needed? Or am I missing something?

bump....I just purchased the same thing the F103N (with nipple) a few days ago, have not received it yet, but am very interested to see responses on this.

EDIT: Received mine the other day, looks like it should fit to me, although I'm not due for a change just yet, it will probably be another couple of weeks....Have you had any luck supercliff?

I'm not sure which part # I have but my Fumuto fit perfect, I have not used it yet (just installed) but I love it already :thumb3:

Good report here as well. I have had the F103N in the truck since the first oil change. No problems. Do you have a pic of it with your drain plug?

Plastic cover? There is no plastic down there as I know

This is the best pic I can find. There's a plastic cover that fits into the oval-shaped hole that you reach through to get to the drain plug. Toyota calls it "engine under cover seal # 3"; fancy name for a piece of plastic!

There was one when the vehicle was new, but because of the small plastic lips that are supposed to hold it to the shield, many fall off and are never found. Or missed...............

I just got my F103 but will not be doing the oils change for about a week.
Question on the torque of this thing since it's brass. anyone using locktite, plumbers tape or anything like this to make sure it does not come out? What torque are you setting it at?

What ever came of this and id like to know about those install questions as well? Also have any of you used the short nipple version? I dont know if i want the long nipple one if its going to go past the skid plate.

well i have had mine on since Sept of last year and not one leak so even a hint of one. hands down, one of the best things i have gotten for the runner since i do all my own work.

I put mine in around July 2010. I have the F103N (with nipple). Works great, no leaks so far. As far as the torque, I just snugged it up until I felt comfortable that it was tight enough, and did not over tighten. The plastic piece: was missing when I purchased my 4runner, and I don't see a need for it. Also, the F103N should not stick out past the skid plate.

I have the one pictured above on my 2006 and have had zero issues with it. Makes oil changes SO much easier!

I don't meant to drum up an ancient thread but I bought this valve and when I went to do my oil change the last time the threads did not seem to match. Did anyone resolve this?

I am do for another oil change and would like to use it.
