I'm back to the drawing board on my choice. I wanted the OW 2.5 lift and then I stumbled on the thread they are closing up shop. Back to the drawing board for me. Torn between ICON and TOYTEC, I'm still deciding. 808g19 what were deciding factors for you? It was easy for me to decide on the OW because of the reviews here.

You can still get the OW kit. Call radflo directly and ask for the ow 2.5 spec kit. They currentlydo not have the rear setup, but I saw in one thread that they are working on getting the rear coils made so they can continue to offer the full kit. Personally, I don't care much for the Toytec kit. One of the biggest benefits of the coilover systems is that they use high end rebuildable/revalveable shocks which are massive in comparison to the 5100s that the TT kit uses. The only difference in the TT kit and something like the 5100/ome combo is a few hundred bucks and the greater range of adjustment. I'm not saying the TT kit isn't good, I just don't think it's on par with the other options out there for the same or slightly more money.

If you want a kit based on the 5100s, look at the Sonoran steel kit. I haven't heard much from the 4th gen folks, but they're very popular with the 3rd gen crowd. They come with trd coils for the front and use the snap ring adjustment. It's similar in price to the TT kit but includes an adjustable panhard bar which is nice (and about a $200 part).

Again, I just don't think the TT kit, by design, is on the same playing field as the other kits. The radflo kit Toytec sells is the same price as their kt but the front setup is much better, basically the ow 2.0 kit, just not to their exact specs on valving.

Also, metal tech 4x4 is running a group buy on the lr ucas, could save a few bucks on them if you order seperate. I got mine through the last group buy they did, they were $375 shipped.

Thanks ARK for the info. If I can help it I'm not going to use any TRD parts on my 4runner. If I had a 5th Gen 4runner yeah no big deal with finding TRD parts that fit. The V8 is sometimes a curse for aftermarket parts. But I will continue to look at OW kits or ICON.

Back to the topic at hand. Glad to hear someone else is having a good time deciding on a suspension lift. Being stuck on the boat for another 3 weeks and seeing all these posts on 4th gens getting spacer and suspension lifts is making me super jealous.

Seems that my future lift ain't happening, my budget won't allow it.:shrug:
With my budget, I most likely will go with the 3" Lift W/ Bilstein 5100 Height Adj Coilovers FJ/4Runner from toyteclifts.com

I decided to go with the ultimate 3" lift cause it has sway bar relocates, front differential drop kit, etc. All in one package. And there are positive feedbacks.

I talked to one of the reps at ToyTec.com and asked what the main difference was between the ultimate 3" and the lift that was $890. The rep said the only difference is the ultimate has adjustable coils. I went with the package that was $890 because I will never adjust my suspension, so I saved a few hundred bucks.

Exactly! Coil over's are expensive. So any other add-on to your purchase like uca's, extended brake lines, and wheel spacer's?

No, but from what I have read it sounds like I should of gotten UCA's. I haven't put the lift on yet so I might grab a set of UCA's...
