If you look at his post over on 120, he snapped either the UCA or the UCA bolt (I can't remember which), and had to get towed home.

The left side of the UCA snapped in half right in front of the bushing. But what he's saying is that it looks like there is a huge possibility something else could be broken in there too.
Yep (more than) a day late, and dollar short now the second one for $40. is gone. Funny thing at the So Cal meet and greet last night I was asking for suggestions on buying a tow strap.
Anybody have another link or idea for a hot deal? Thanks in advance for any help.
P.S. I'm no expert, but weren't all the guys standing near the black truck being snatched in the video putting their lives in danger? I thought you were supposed to stand way, way clear in case of a strap or link point breaking?

It's not the quality or capacity of that original Warn one, but a simple $10 one from harbor freight is something to have in each vehicle....at least here in snow season. I think they have it at 7000 lbs working load. It has hooks at each end, so be careful if they aren't locked on something solid.
I've had them with a come-along on 60' pines when felling them by myself to make sure they went the right way (i.e. didn't take out the house). I've pulled over and up a hill a nice 10' section from the base of a pine that the 24" chain saw wasn't quite finishing. I beached a partially submerged boat with 4 of them linked, after snapping the rope he first had attached to the boat. We pulled a subaru out of a snowbank, and I pulled another 4runner out of a snowbank. But in trying to pull out a stump with one in my front yard, I eventually snapped one, at the weak point where I clipped to the strap after looping around the trunk, instead of using a separate chain or strap like I should have.
Basically it has more than enough strength for pulling with your 4runner, but if you are pulling with a strong winch you might want something stronger. I also have a double looped strap with a little higher capacity that I got years ago at Home Depot for not too much....but again it wasn't as good of a strap as that Warn one.
