FYI AVS bug deflector fit

Just installed mine on Wednesday and it fit perfectly with no issues. The box must have been mislabeled.
The part number is stamped on the deflector. I played around with the rubber hood stoppers on the car and lowered them down a bit. It gave me enough play so that I don't have to slam the hood shut. Only issue is the deflector is still sitting on the bumper and headlights. I may play with it a little more before giving up.

How's the clearance between the deflector and the top of the front bumper? When I adjusted mine , the hood closed but the deflector was rubbing on the bumper.
No issues closing, the hood shuts like nothing is there.

Body style and shape of front end body parts appear to be the same as previously stated in other posts, from 2010 thru 2017...
I ordered the AVS 23071 deflector from Amazon. Deflector is well made, looks great, great mold quality, fits hood absolutely perfectly, BUT my hood will not come even close to latching. Once I received the deflector, I looked at the material thickness, then looked at exposed crack between my hood and grill top, and between the tops of the headlights... Only about 1/16 of an inch gap the entire width of the hood. When I push the hood down by hand, the deflector plastic hits the top of the grill edge, AND the top of both headlights, way before the hood lock/latch even begins to catch. I tried adjusting the hood height bumpers down a couple of turns, and still will not latch even when slamming pretty hard.
Since my T4R is brand new, I do not wish for the deflector to constantly rub the grill or the headlights. All that slamming force impacting the grill top and headlights can not be good for them or the paint...and I am not taking the hood or the grill loose just to try and adjust for a larger gap, just for a $50 deflector.
So, back to Amazon it goes, and I will look for another brand, but my guess at this point, it will end up being a tape attach version due to the tight gap that mine has.
I can only assume that the other folks who got them on with no problem had to have had a larger gap fit on their hoods from the factory.
Let me say again, the AVS hood deflector looks absolutely great, but mine will not latch either.
I left out, that my deflector had 'both' 23071, and 25053 part numbers embossed into the bottom edge of the deflector. So, they both must be the same.

This one fit mine no problem...2016 TRAIL PREMIUM, This one uses metal screws /with plastic fasteners. Also comes with bumpers, but I did not use them. This is the higher profile model. As for bugs ...It's not going to stop a whole swarm of bees crossing my path on the highway in the summer from hitting my windshield and roof top. But I'm sure it helps some. Works fine in the no touch carwash after several washes.

Which is the low profile? I would be installing on base 2016. Some of the description for the II said it used tape and some said hardware was involved. Does it use screws?
edit - when I put the model intpo the link it showed the II is high profile. Still have question on attachment

Just to add another data point with the fit of the AVS Bug Deflector 2 on a '17 T4R.
Ordered model 25053 from Amazon. Sticker on box does say that it's only for the '10-'13 T4Rs. Deflector itself is stamped with model numbers "25053" and "23071" in the plastic itself.
Install was simple as can be. Plastic squares into the hood holes and screw the deflector into place. Simple.
As for closing the hood, this is where I too had trouble. Even with forcefully pressing down (not slamming from height, just pushing down very hard from the down position) on the hood, it would not latch. On an impulse, I removed the plastic fascia covering the forward part of the radiator and horn. 8-10 simple plastic fasteners and it was out. This time, the hood did latch but with about the same amount of push down force. Circled back to the forums and found this thread and then adjusted the rubber stops (one of each side). Now the hood closes with a little less pushing (but still not as easy as originally).
Looking at actually gaps, the deflector doesn't touch at all of the passenger side. However, it does make contact with the front grill top and part of the driver side headlight. I'll keep an eye on it over the next few days to see if there is any damage. I don't particularly like it touching (especially on a brand new T4R), but it isn't horrendous.
As for the plastic fascia, I will try to reinstall it tonight since I think the rubber hood stops has more to do with the hood latching than the plastic.

I just got mine (25053) and too had the hood closing issue. I just brought the bump stops down a touch and it closes fine now. Fitment isnt that great to me as it still doesnt protect the inner points of the hood very well (where the inner edge of the headlight meets the upper grille) and its resting on one headlight due to the way it was molded. Its also resting on the upper grille slightly.
Not sure if it all bothers me enough to keep it. I may take it off and sell locally for cheap. At $50 I cant complain if I lose $20 on it

mainly for looks, although it does protect the hood edges from rock chips and gives you a visual of where your front corners are (somewhat helpful when parallel parking in the city). It doesnt do much to deflect bugs.
