Hey did you have to modify the mounts due to the KDSS? I only ask cause I'm not equipped with the KDSS does that mean I wont have to modify mine?

Yeah, the KDSS equipped 4R's don't have the threaded holes for the King reservoir mounts. I've seen the mounts used on SR5's. Is yours a TE?

I like it. I've only used it once camping but it is nice to not have to reach in for heavy items.

Yeah, I got them a couple months ago. My wife really liked the wider step and I think they work better for door ding protection.

This is the best photo i have, unfortunately. I am much happier with these.
they are 1" further out than their standard sliders. I was a little worried it would be too far but it ended up working out perfectly. Keep in mind that i run 1.25" spidertrax spacers.

They look great, I am assuming you used bedliner on them given how they look. I'm staying with the 265 tire size given my usage, so since you have wheel spacers I assume they would stick out too far with the added inch? I have factory running boards and despise them but my wife is 5'2" and I have two small kids so I'm looking for a reasonably priced option that would offer a better step and be stronger in case they were to hit something on the trail. I don't do anything more then moderate trails so I don't know how much I need it but the factory running boards are weak and they suck as a step.

My wife and i are expecting our first child here in the next couple of weeks so my buddy and i decided to embark on a last weekend trip before our trip to the FJ Summit in July. the plans were to travel north to Yucca Valley, Joshua Tree and our 3rd home 29 Palms MCB. We left San Diego friday afternoon for a three day excursion through some area we hadn't visited in decade.
My iPad and MotionX GPS app proved to be a godsend as we had forgotten how to get around.
Started our saturday morning checking out a series of gold mining tunnels about 30 miles east of 29 palms. These mining tunnels were incredible and unbelievably nerve wracking to explore.
We set up for lunch and a beer on top of an old mining headquarters patio. I lost my rear passengers mudflap backing up onto it...looks like its time for a CBI rear bumper hahah

the great thing about sleeping in the 4Runner is being able to wheel into the wee hours of the morning and not worrying about where you're setting up camp. this was our first nights primitive camp on some dunes.
I tried to recreate some awesome night shot photos I've seen on here but forgot my tripod so had to settle with a duffle bag. heavy winds made it difficult but came out ok overall
the second day out was a heavy wheeling day and i didn't get too many photos as were blazing the trail. we did happen to make it in to the national park for a drive through, as i had never been to Joshua Tree.
Overall, it ended up being a very relaxing trip... A calm before the storm, if you will. we put in a good 120 miles on dirt in the end and the rig held up well. looking forward to spending the next several years wheeling the hell out of her and creating lifelong memories with my wife and daughter.
