do any of you guys with lifted 4runners (preferably the taller ones) have any issues getting in and out on a standard garage door?

my 00 highlander has a hard time fitting in a lot of garages at stock height. At the town house we just moved out of, it would fit, but it hit the power antenna if it was up, and you couldn't jack it up at all w/ the door open. I haven't even tried pulling it in at the new house yet. I figured worse case for the times when i need to work on it, i would pick up a spare set of wheels, and throw some smaller tires on them. Of course if you want to park inside every night this won't be a solution.

Is there such a thing as a standard garage height?

With 32's and a 3" lift I had to remove my factory roof rack cross bars to fit in my garage. Even though I have plenty of door clearance, there is a great big structural I-beam right in the middle of my garage and that is the lowest point. I abandoned my body lift plans because of this.

subscribed! this is the only thing that has held me back from a lift. im very curious to see what people say. it looks good so far... maybe... but ya a garage is very nice to have for those cold mornings, or for pumk kids who break your window for some spare change they see. :bigok:

just keep the roof rack off

I can fit in there with about 2 inches of clearance now.

With the roof rack atop the cross bars-no way.

with the roof rack flush to the roof-clears by an inch.

after an anticipated body lift of 1 inch-no way with the rack

see i have a 2.5 spacer lift, 32inch tires and a factory roof rack and I clear by about 3 or 4 inches on most garages I been in (7ft tall), but this summer if not before then I'm getting rid of the dubs (haha) and goin to some 17's with 33 inch aggressive tires and a 1.5inch body lift and prolly gonna change the 2.5 daystar spacers out with a 3 inch lift and diff drop blah blah blah, so I will be like 2.5 inches higher than I am right now, I'll be cutting it very close...

i too have a 2.5 inch lift with after market crossbars and a yakima basket and i fit with a couple of inches to spare.

Well of course yours fits, you have that custom smashed in roof lol. :bigok:

Mine fit in with the 3" lift on stock tires with the coleman safari rack on top and only cleared by about 2". It also fit's fine with the 3" lift and 33" KM2s. I haven't tried it with the safari rack on yet, but it looks as though its going to be waaay to close. I'm confident I could add a 1.5" or 2" BL and be fine, but I may pick up some spare wheels and stock size tires at some point just in case.

Mine fits without racks on top in my little garage, but it fits with a few inches in my big one with racks on
