Gas door adjustment?

Does anyone know if the alignment of the gas door can be adjusted? It appears that mine is way out of alignment because of some lazy baboons knocking into it while pumping gas at the station. Seriously NJ, just let me pump my own gasoline.

Either way, it's really annoying. Every time the attendant opens the door you hear a loud arse noise from when the door scrapes the body. There's an area around the fuel fill area where the paint has been scraped off from when the gas door is opened, I'd really like to touch it up to prevent rust.

Any help is appreciated.

There's only two screws. Take them off and see if you can adjust it. I don't think you really can, the door is probably just bent and like the guy said before, just try and bend it back.

Removing the screws won't fix the problem. The holes on the bracket are very close to the screw diameter. I have the same thing going on with mine. My next step is either to bend the bracket back or use a drill to wallow out the holes on the bracket so that the position can be adjusted.

Similar thing happened to me. I opened the gas door at the pump and I hear a loud scraping. I removed the two screws securing the door to the body. I could see a small bend in the door where it was hitting and I could start to see the marks on the car where it was rubbing. I just ended up gently bending it back with a small towel and a pair of channel locks. No more scraping.
