Yes, they GDI turbocharged engines. Looking at the F150 forum, I haven't seen any other common complaints about the EcoBoost engine. There are a number of folks complaining about the epas.

Look up BMW/Mercedes/VW&Audi GDI problems, they'll be the same problems in the domestic cars as well. Nothing against GDI engines, there's just a quirk that they haven't fixed yet, (Toyota attempted to correct it, but... well lets not talk about that lol)

If I am not mistaken, those Ecoboost engines are GDI (Gasoline Direct Injection). I'm sure that's not the only issues they have with those engines if they are GDI.

direct injection engines all suffer from fuel dilution and carbon build up on the valves. i have this problem in my Audi...

My neighbor has had a ecoboost F150 crew cab for a year and has towed a huge boat with it many times. It has not had any problems. I have drove it several times. I can not beleive how good it runs for such a huge vehicle. It would run circles around a 5th gen.

Taking out the Carbon filter in the airbox got me an extra mpg on the average mpg gauge.. its a mod and it saved a mile per gallon dont hate.. lol
