I've done everything. Seafoamed it, then plugs, wires, air filter, fuel filter, PCV Valve, O2 sensor, cleaned the MAF and TB. There's nothing left to tune up.
Gas mileage WAY down with 265 75 16's?

I'm right there with you Pitbull. I've been seeing 15 mpg since changing my plugs and wires and switching from my 265/75 Cooper STT's to my 265/75 BFG AT's. I'm just confused because I was getting ~17 mpg before doing the spark plugs and switching tires.

I'm still running 265/70/16's. It's killing me. I'm getting to about 210 until I have to fill up and then it's taking 15+ gallons. I drive a decent amount for work too.
I also scanned it, no codes.
It does however have a slight exhaust leak, couple pin holes in the muffler. I suspect this may have something to do with it but I can't imagine that it's hurting it that bad, if at all since it's behind both O2 sensors.

Neither did I. But I still drive it everyday and would like it to at least perform as it should.

Have you done a compression test?
Man that just does not seem right. I'm not sure what it could be, but something is causing inefficiency somewhere (obviously).
I filled up yesterday with 14.9 gallons and I was at 275.1 miles.

No, haven't done one. But, it's not lacking for power at all. Starts right up, idles as it should, goes like it should. It actually runs better than my '99 did but the mileage just blows.

i have a 1998 t4r limited with 265/75r16 and we just drove from orlando fl to orange county nc and we averaged 24mpg with the truck packed to the roof i dont know how we did it but i am pleased

Not to sidetrack also but.
Took the picture in Mount Rainer National Park on the east side of the mountain on Hwy 123. It is closed in the winter and the waterfall is from snow melt. I took the picture Memorial Day weekend which is when they open the road to Cayuse and Chinook pass. About mid Summer the waterfall is just about gone.

I noticed the same drop in mileage after I went up to the 265/75/16 size. I have a 99 highlander automatic I was running BFG TA/KOs and switched to Michelin LTX M/S 2. I just did a full tune up mentioned previously, but no improvement in mileage. I live in St. Louis and got my new Michelins right about the time the weather changed. I know we don't have any ethanol free gas here but I am not positive that the gas formulas change for the winter. I rarely get over 220 miles in my tank. I drive primarily in the city and have a heavy foot as well but again, these are constants in this scenario. I try to forget about it because it makes me sad. Does running the ECT affect the mileage much?

That's the thing, I don't drive it hard at all. I have a 540i/6 speed for that. I drive it real easy and I still have the stock size tires. I'm going to switch out the cat as I think maybe that's clogged and replace the muffler because of the small leaks. If that doesn't work I'm going to give up.
When i first bought my 4runner, I got right at 21mpg on the 6 hour freeway drive home. Around town was 18-19. This was on Michillin 265/70/16 Road tires.
No change after putting on TRD Catback (didnt expect any)
Got my tundra rims with 265/65/17 Mastercraft P rated A/T's and noticed about a 1mpg drop both hwy and city. (These tires were nearly identical to stock size but just slightly heavier)
Upgraded tires to 265/70/17 E rated Toyo MT's and dropped to around 15-16 hwy and 12-14 city. (yes this is after recalculating for size difference) These tires are HEAVY!!!
Put my TRD supercharger with new plugs and cleaned maf and IF I keep my foot out of it, I actually get gain about 1mpg all around.
If im zipping around town driving it like I drove my mr2, I lost about 1 more mpg all around.
Looks like until I drop back to a lighter tire, Im stuck at 12-15 city and 15-17 hwy.

All right Hepar, no one else said anything about this so I"m calling BS. 24/25 freeway? What model Mr. Fusion are you using with your flux capacitor??? That's WAAAAAYYYYY out of norm.
I average 19 even and it's my DD, mostly interstate to work and back, about 70 miles round trip. I could do better if I could keep it under 75mph, but I"m usually late.

I know it sounds crazy, but it's 100% true. I picked it up in San Jose and drove it back to Seattle. Would fill it up around 340-350 and usually 14-15 gallons to fill it up. Never more than 15. The cruise control was set to 75 most of the time too. I was stunned. Those were the good ol' days...

Been reading the forum on the EFI reset and I must say that it works for me.Was getting around 11 mpg,was really wondering why the milage was so high on the 4runnners.Now I'm getting at least 16-18,depends on my foot style driving in the street and 20-23 hwy. maybe more on staying at 65mph-68mph on the cruse control setup,yes,I was skeptical and doubtful on this reset thing,but I believe it now,glad it's getting alot better on the MPG's.

Tires: LT265/75/16 Toyo Open Country AT2s. Load Range E.
Mileage: 16-17 MPG with cruise set at 65MPH.
Modifications: NONE!
I can say though, I am pleased. Coming from a Jeep Cherokee that had 2" OME Suspension, only 30x9.5 tires, and rock sliders, I got at best 13-15 MPG HWY at best. I now drive a 4Runner that is silky smooth at cruising speeds, 32s on stock suspension, and a locker in the rear! :noidea:

My wife consistently gets 18.5 (corrected for tire dia) driving around town - grocery gettin', kid taxi'n, maul crawlin'...
Highway mileage (the few times it's been long distance) is 20-21.
Driving cross country on I-90 in the winter can be a windy b*tch, unless it's a tail wind, that'll kill your mileage.
