I don't really think there would be much of a difference. I actually live in NY (but close to the NJ border) and we have full and self serve pumps. The majority of gas stations in NY have the same prices for full serve or self serve in my area. They also went to the same pricing for cash or credit at most stations too...

22ft Center Console Power Cat with twin Suzuki 115hp 4-Stroke OBs, gets a whopping 3.4 mpg, and that's at optimum cruise, verified by fuel flow meters integrated into the gps system. It only holds 100 gals. I don't troll as much as I use too. When filling up I always put the boat on the trailer and pull it to the station instead of filling at a marina, saves at least 50 cents a gallon.
I don't believe it will be too long before gas costs exceed boat payments. :dammit:
 

Wawa "regular" unleaded was $3.11 tonight (3-10-08), and I paid $30.00 to fill my Mustang GT.....and I my tank was already 1/3 full.

The news report today said that crude oil broke $108 today. So much for cheap Iraqi oil, eh?

Diesel fuel is now pushing $3.85 per gallon........which is undoubtedly going to have an effect on consumer goods everywhere. Remember that if you got it, a truck brought it!

I drive big rigs for a living, and I can tell you that my boss is probably going to pull his hair out soon. Imagine having trucks that hold 160 to 200 gallons and cost $500 to $600 for a fill-up (day cabs); which average about six or maybe seven miles per gallon. Those big "sleeper" trucks you see going down the road typically hold 300 gallons, which runs over $1000 for full tanks!

EDIT: I just read on a trucker's Internet forum that diesel fuel is now above four dollars a gallon in parts of PA and NY. Gawd!

I live in Eastern PA and Diesel was $4.059 Saturday morning.
I have to wonder when the next price increase will happen this week.
Here in my area the current price spread between diesel and 87 octane Unleaded is 80 cents/gallon which is just about an All Time High.


EDIT: Looks loike I got my answer about the next price increase this morning (03/11)....
Diesel Prices went up over night here to $4.099 this morning (03/11).

EDIT #2: Oppps.. Came home tonight (03/11) and Diesel went up since this morning to $4.159

After reading the prices of gas in other states, I am somewhat glad that I live in Missouri. I can see a lot more motorcycle riding in the near future.

interesting. when i go to DC, once you cross into Delaware they have gas stations with full or self serve and for full serve it's about a .20 cent increase in price.

Here in Eastern Pennsylvania there used to be a lot of stations that had both Full & Self Serve pumps.
The Full Serve pumps were always 20-30 cents/gallon higher than Self Serve.
In recent years, a lot of those stations converted to Self Serve Only.
 
Ok, I am trying to see if I am doing this right. I went 205.2 miles on this last tank, and I filled up 15.67 gallons of gas. So that gives me 13.0 mpg? The light did not come on, but I always refill around this time frame. Not to rub it in, but gas is still $2.99 a gallon here. Now who all wants to move down here so we can all go to FLAT NASTY .

That's right, ~13mpg... we haven't seen $3/gal gas since the beginning of this year.
