Gas Tank Strap Replacement

I ordered gas tank straps from RockAuto today and it says it comes as a set. The picture on the rock auto site shows 2 straps. I just went on the Toyota parts site and the parts diagram shows 2 separate pieces for front and back. It appears there is 4 pieces that go for replacement of the straps.

Did I order the wrong/insufficient items??? The part I ordered from rock auto is Spectra Premium (part no.ST316). I hope I’ll be ok. I told the stealership to order the mounting hardware.

By the way it’s for a 2006 V6 4Runner Sport.

Thanks.

Not sure what image you are referring in the SM, but mine clearly shows the two fuel tank straps. What's not clear is the fact that there are two rubber / nylon sleeves (one for each strap) that insulate or protect the metal straps from directly contacting the plastic fuel tank itself.

I've actually removed my fuel tank so I am speaking from first hand experience as well.

I guess it’s the nylon sleeves I’m seeing, hopefully they will come with the straps I ordered from Rock Auto.

I know you didn't order from a Toyota dealer directly, but typically the parts department at my local dealership are very familiar with the specifics of individual parts and have access to other diagrams and information that the public can't see. You could call your local dealership and ask them. They might be able to help clarify.

I ordered a set from RA a few years ago and it was only the metal straps (2). I reused the rubber and maybe even the pins. It took some work to get the old pins out without wrecking the bracket they attach to. On the bolt side, the front one broke and the rear ripped out that part of the frame so I had to do some welding to the latter. Dropped a bolt through the frame from the inside after punching out the tacked on nut for the front one.
