I recently spoke with Alex ( [MENTION=63211]emelianenkov[/MENTION] ) and we agreed to do a transaction that included him doing the soldering of LED bulbs onto the gauge cluster / HVAC unit.
Well they have arrived in his town and should be delivered at one point today. I cannot freaking wait to see the finished results; I was starting to get tired of the lame orange color in the 4R! He has been very helpful and patient with me when I was trying to disassemble the cluster and HVAC unit. He has done great work for others in the past as I've conducted an extensive research regarding his past work prior to payment and I could not find any complaints!
I wanted "cool white" for all of the lights within the gauge cluster (including needle) and HVAC along with the indicator light so hopefully it turns out great!
I will keep you all updated as soon I get them back so I can take pictures and show you the results!
However I do have few tips for all of you if you are shipping gauge cluster/hvac to emelianenkov or someone else that are doing soldering...
-Make note of HOW many miles of gas you have left prior to taking off the gauge cluster in case you need to gas up!
-Be sure to "preset" your desired temperature on the HVAC unit as you will not be able to adjust it after the HVAC unit is disassembled! It was a mistake on my part to increase temperature one night where it was super chilly the next few nights until weather went back to being warmer so now I literally have to roll down my windows to avoid sweating, LOL
-Even though the bolts are all the same, it is advised you separate them in the 1st cup holder that is designated for bolts underneath the steering wheel and the gauge cluster area. For the HVAC unit, simply place the bolts in the 2nd cup holder!
*Note: No need to heed the last advice if you are very savvy with vehicles in general but figured this may help not so savvy individuals like myself :hippie:
