I am in the process of going thru the gear upgrade process. I will be going with 4.56's. The local shop offers G2, Yukon and Nitro. They also have Motive but stated they have seen a few failures and only suggest the other 3 brands. Is there a preferred brand of gears? Open to ideas.

Well certain events have dictated a gear change. Still torn on having ECGS send me preassembled 3rd vs having the local shop build some for me. Doing gears isn't cheap so I just want to do it once.

We had Yukons 4.56s in our '89 4Runner and they were quiet and durable.

Had good results with both Yukon & nitro on my old 03 Tacoma , 4.88s & 4.56s no probs with either !

I'm currently running yukon 5.29's with detroits and haven't had any problems. I've also set a few thirds with sierra gears with no issues.
