Gen 3 brakes

DED&DED

I think I understand the 191 vs 231 Tundra brake discussion. But, I have read that some Gen 3s have larger brake discs than others. My DD is 1999, SR5, manual transmission, 4WD, V6. I am original owner--it came with the J-vin, sport hood, 16' wheels, and flares; but, no e-locker.

Were there different brakes configurations of the 99s? If so, how can they be identified?

Thank you for your help…

The only difference between might be disc/rotors made for the base/sr5 models with 15" rims. Its possible that 3rd gens with 16" rims might have a larger caliper/rotors but not entirely sure. Since you run 16s the. The tundra rotors should be the same dimension as yours.

Alot of members will tell you to search before you start a thread..hopefully bfads info on the TBU will help you...
